Back to the future

I really love looking through old family photos as you're always more than certain to uncover some hidden gems. So I was pretty excited when I stumbled upon photographer Irina Werning's work. She's been working on her 'Back to the Future' project where she's managed to persuade people to recreate some of their old snaps all in the name of art, and I love the results.

Irina says “
I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future.”

You've got a way with words..

ooops. I've been a very bad blogger... not one post in over a week. Big apologies to my little readers. So just a quick one and something you've all seen before but London Fashion Week always manages to captivate me and I wanted to share it with you.

I was lucky enough to see the Bora Aksu show on Friday, and excited was an understatement. It was the first 'real' show I've been too and it really didn't disappoint. Whilst shuffling into the tent we spotted Twiggy and Marina [minus her diamonds] wearing an eccentric jumper embellished with what looked like mice. Then once we were at our seats, and after some more time spend spying who was on the the front row, it was time for the lights to go down and Duran Duran's 'Chauffer Song' pumped out the speakers. The models strutted along the catwalk in a convoy of armour like bodices and some killer heels - the buckled bootie trend doesn't seem like it's dying down any time soon. The collection had a futuristic gothic feel with a pallete of silver greys, black and  a gorgeous emerald green.

Now onto the rest..

Style paparazzi seven

I've been thinking ahead to Spring this week, so this week's street style caught my eye as I'm dreaming of being able to wear bare legs. It's not much of an outfit but I fell in love with the cut of her coat, it's just so cute. I love how she's paired it with a pretty pastel pink scarf and matching peep toe shoes. Hurry up warmer weather!

Bee My Valentine

Tomorrow is Valentines Day, a day I'm not usually a huge fan of however I'll secretly be hoping that I receive one of these beautiful cards by Ella from my secret admirer. You can view more of her designs here and she's even got 10% on all her products.

now i’ve got you in the undertow

Alexa was looking stunning as usual at Barneys event for Carven designer Guillaume Henry during New York Fashion Week. Ms Chung showed off a tropical nail design which is a sight for sore eyes what with the great british weather we're having.  The 70's-style palm tree's look great with her neutral blazer and buttoned up shirt. I'm also glad to see she's back to her brunette locks... anyone else getting a little bored of Ombre?

And not to out do herself, Alexa popped up at Christian Siriano's A/W '11 show in a very foxy ensemble. She's always been the queen of quirk, and I love this fox print dress and the way she's paired it with those fantastic red heels!

P.s The dress is from Opening Ceremony... and also comes in a mini version as well as shirt. I want!

Following on from yesterday's post and my obsession for camel, I should also probably mention my lust for rust too. I ummed and aahed over a rust jumper with gorgeous leather elbow pads from H and M a while back, before selling out just when I had decided I definitely needed it in my life. This week's street style snap is in homage to that perfect jumper. It brightens up those oh so handy leather shorts and the tan accessories she's picked just help the outfit to flow effortlessly. Who says you can't mix brown and black.

How many humps?

My mind has been a little preoccupied with everything camel recently, I'm coveting every item in said colour. However, my search for the perfect camel coat... well jacket... is now over.

This little beauty was hiding in my local charity shop and was even in their high price sale, have you heard of such a thing! So it's all mine for a bargainous five pounds. I'm so happy. [Apologies for the crappy iphone pics]

It was a very successful shopping trip all round, as I managed to pick up all these goodies too all for the grand sum of three pounds. !

Cream crochet knit jumper, not too dissimilar to the recent topshop version seen here

Some beautiful gold picture frames to add to my collection along with a vintage perfume bottle. I've always loved that little pump!

Have you had any good charity shop bargains recently?

To Be Adored

It's pretty easy to see why I've fallen in love with TBA's latest collection. The label features girly and vintage inspired designs that have captured the hearts of every girly girl. Their latest lookbook is filled with nude coloured chiffons embellished with the label’s signature peter pan collars and definitely my favourite - that cute yellow swan print dress above!

Be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't do

I'm a big fan of Karen Elson, not just her amazing voice but also her fiery red hair. I came across this unpublished photo of her by Glen Luchford for V Magazine and it now has pride of place on my desktop.

Style paparazzi five

This week you're getting two for the price of one, mostly because I couldn't possibly choose between either of these gorgeous coats. The camel coat has been around for a while now but I still love the way it can transform a pretty casual outfit almost instantly. I'm really keen on the double breasted number on the first girl and have taken a shine to her tartan scarf too!
