hometown glory

Along with the rest of the country, I've fallen in love with Adele all over again after listening to her live lounge on Radio One last week. She has the voice of an angel and I could listen to her sing all day. Here's my favourite track from that session.

Pretty as a Poésy

I'm a huge fan of  Clémence Poésy, so I was stunned to see this beautiful photos of her in US Marie Claire. Her new hair colour is perfect. I'm loving all the pastel colours that are about too, it's making me all excited  for Spring!

Hang me up to dry

Whilst researching for Cellardoor, we usally come across a lot of very talented people. That's where I found the lovely Megan Penfold. I really admire the handmade style illustration, [I think it's probably because I hate things looking neat] and this lady does that just perfectly. I especially love the second one, there's just something about the mix of typography and photographs. Lovely.

P.s I've recently rediscovered Cold War Kids.. hence the title of this post. Man I forgot what I was missing, his voice is incredible.

Style paparazzi four

This weeks street style is a very simple affair. I'm a huge lover of the colour grey, it can be any shade and I'll still covet it, and this cardigan is no exception. I really like the colours and textures of the cardigan and the staple denim shirt together mixed with the bright tan Chelsea boots which help to give it a bit of kick [pardon the pun].  I've also got the huge problem in the mornings of a very chilly walk to the station, only to get on a sweaty tube, so his would be perfect item to throw on.

Drumroll please

After many hours and a lot of late nights spent over my laptop, the latest issue of Cellardoor has finally hit your screens. It took a little longer than we expected to get it out, but it's no less beautiful than the rest. This is the fifth issue and it's packed with the usual mix of fashion, art, and music including an interview lovely Cherry Healey from the BBC3 series, we find out what model/actress Anna Brewster is up to and take a peek around some more of your homes.

Take a little peek and let me know what you think.

What are you waiting for...

I never seem to have much free time these days, what with my internship and Cellardoor. So I love spending my Sundays curled up under the duvet, catching up with all your blogs with a cup big old mug of tea.  I used to spend hours swapping new music with my old uni housemates and loved finding a new band to become obsessed with. However, working and commuting have taken over my life. The radio at work has been blaring out this little tune recently and after having it stuck in my head for the past few weeks, I've finally found out who it is. They're a band called Neon Trees and the track is 'Animal. I can't help but sing along whenever I hear it.
What are you all listening to at the moment?

Sweet Disposition

I have a love/hate relationship with Vogue, but when I came across this editorial I couldn't help but smile. I love all the pastel colours and it makes me want to devour a packet of Love Hearts!

Style paparazzi three

It's that time of the week again, so I've dug deep into my folder of inspiration and pulled out this cracker. I'm a sucker for a chunky knit, especially when it's this lovely cranberry colour. I really like the textures of the the leather shorts, with the knit and finished off with some wedge booties. [These are my saviour. I love a high heel, but sadly cannot walk in them! ] I've just bought some leather shorts, so can't wait to pair them with a cosy jumper for the daytime. I also love how this girl has cinched her cardigan in with a belt with a cute bow.

what katie did next

The lovely Katie sent me this little beauty in the post the other day. Katie had a little giveaway on her blog and I manged to win one of her hand painted cards, along with a lovely little note inside. Her name is Clara, and Katie and has even inscribed my name in the scroll in a tattoo style. It reminds me of something a sailor would have have inked on their arm.

You can also just about see my new purchase from this week. I'm a little obsessed with peter pan collars at the moment, so couldn't resist this little stripy number from New Look.

Jesus Christ, that's a pretty face

I love these photo's of Alexa for the New York Times. It's got me on the search for the perfect grey jumper.

two door cinema club

Well if we're going to be techincal about this, it's only actually one door. I spotted this little beauty over on Topshop's blog and have fallen in love.  The Sol Cinema is the worlds smallest solar powered movie theatre and isn't it cute. Not only is it just a pretty face, it's also very eco friendly. Result.

The Cinema travels around the country showcasing excerpts from their library of comedy, music and inspiring short films. If only I had a good enough reason to invite them to one of my parties. Inside there's enough room for eight adults, and even comes with your very own usherettes dressed in retro fringed jackets.

So I guess good things really do come in small packages!

style paparazzi two

So this marks my second street style post. As I said in the last one, my folder is full to the brim so it was hard to pick which one to share next. However,  this colour popping blazer calling out at me and I couldn't resist this girl. This is such a simple outfit with dark denim shorts and white shirt combo which only makes the jacket shine out that little bit more.
My favourite colour is green (maybe it's something to do with the fact it's the meaning of my name?) and it also happens to be the colour of envy, something I definitely have after seeing this girl.

Just look at that perfect red pout, effortlessly placed trilby and not to mention that hunk of a designer bag on her arm.

P.s I've had all theses images on my laptop for so long, and their birthplaces are but a distant memory. So, if they happen to be yours, just let me know and I'll pop a credit on.

birds of a feather

I really love recieving handmade presents, and last year for christmas the boy framed one of his prints as a surprise. It had been something he had been working on for his final year project on the very cheesy subject of love, and this was my favourite page. I had it in storage at my Nan's house whilst I moved rooms and I've only just managed to bring it home, where it now has pride of place on my wall.

swim until you can't see land

These images have been floating around the blog world for a while but I felt the need to share them again with you. I have a huge passion for magazine design and geek out each month on all my favourites.
I have a love/hate relationship Vogue, and often feel they just don't hit the mark. However, after seeing these I got a little excited.  Some clever girl (shrubrub to be precise) has super-imposed all the covers of Vogue this year on top of each other! I think the end effect looks rather beautiful, much like a fiery angel?

Here are some of my other favourites...

home is wherever I'm with you

Can't stop listening to this video at the moment. There are no words, it's the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Tuesday 4 January 2011

style paparazzi one

I'm a sucker for a pretty picture, and this has resulted in a rather bulging inspiration folder on my desktop. So it would be rude not to share some of my findings with you guys.  When I started this blog, the only other blogs I read were filled with street style shots and I can spend hours  scrolling through snaps of stylish girls and wishing I had even an ounce of the style they possess.
So that's why I've decided to have start a regular street style post where I can show you what is inspiring me at the moment.

This girl first caught my eye with those amazing camel trousers. I've been after a pair for ages, but have yet to find ones that flatter my curvy petite frame. This little lady has paired them with a cute Fair Isle sweater (the must have knit), some cute suede T-bar sandals (in the perfect blue colour) and of course the obligatory messy waves.

Happy New Year

Happy new year to you all, and I hope the next twelve months are good to you! It's been a strange year for me, but I have a good feeling about this one. For the next six months I'm interning doing my my dream job so I've got all my fingers and toes crossed  that something comes from it. There are so many things I want to do so I hope that everything falls into place.
I'm going to try and update on here a little more, and maybe show you all a little more of the work I'm doing. The next year also marks the first birthday of a little project of mine that some of you may know about it, and if you don't then please check out Cellardoor as it really is simply beautiful! ... I'm definitely not biased!
