cellardoor

Introducing a beautiful new read, soon to be coming your way.
Myself and two of my best friends (Suze and Amy) are beginning our journey into the magazine world with our original publication, cellardoor.
Cellardoor is a quarterly online magazine for stylish and confident young women, who are interested in what’s going on in the world. It was first conceived by three friends at university, who have decided to put it online, with hopes of one day seeing it in print.
cellardoor offers a mix of fashion, music, film, art and cultural events – everything a young woman would need to know about. We take pride in the style and appearance of the magazine, creating a magazine that is beautiful as well as interesting, and a little different to the norm.
We'd love to hear from any writers, photographers, illustrators - anyone who'd like to contribute.
Also if you are someone who knows what's going on and where, let us know about anything you think may be of interest to us. We want to know about what's going on around the country, whether it's music, film, art or anything fashion-related.
Unfortunately at the moment we are unable to pay any contributors, but it's a chance to get your work published and your name known. If you think you can help join then just get in touch at cellardoormag@hotmail.com
You can also follow us on twitter & join our facebook
Keep your eyes peeled,
- cellardoor xo

You can't deny you want the happy ending

So I went to see (500) days of summer on this week. I've been so looking forward to this movie. I always liked Joseph Gordon Levitt, oh and of course the stunning Zooey Deschanel.
One of the reasons I was so excited was that Marc Webb has directed the film. Who for those of you that don't know, Webb has directed lots of music videos including my favourite Brand New song - Sic Transit Gloria!
I dragged my lovely boy with me and well lets just sat he was not as excited as I was. This movie is so cute though, not the usual rom com but there is cruel twist to the end so be warned.
The soundtrack is pretty awesome so I suggest you go listen to it. With tracks from Regina Spektor, The Smiths and Wolfmother, oh and Temper Trap! I have it on repeat on spotify at the moment ha!
Oh and my very nice friend Amy is a fan of Zooey, so I think you should nosey on over to her blog and say hi. Like I said she is very nice and she likes writing and pretty pictures :)
While i'm talking about lovely friends you should check out Suzie's blog too. She takes lots of lovely photos so say hello to her too!

SharkInTheWater

Last friday I popped down to the Monarch in Camden and got to be part of an amazing gig put together but NME Radio and Dr Martens. The gig in question was with the lovely and amazingly stylish Miss VV Brown.
Huddled around the small stage at the front of the Camden boozer, the crowd were already enjoying themselves to the sounds of the NME DJ spinning the decks.
At 9.30-ish the music kicked in and VV bounced on to the stage singing through a mega phone. Wearing some mega volume hareem pants that would give MC Hammer a run for his money, and paired with the coveted Topshop gold embroidered trophy jacket. Oh and not forgetting her trademark black Russian style fur hat.
Prancing around the stage barefoot and sporting some amazing glow in the dark green nail polish on her toes, she belted out tunes including Leave!, Shark in the Water and her lovely cover of the KOL Use Somebody.
I had such an amazing time and would definitely recommend any of you to go and catch one of her gigs. She's a great performer and got the whole crowd dancing, we were even treated to a reggae version of Shark in the Water.
My camera is being very temperamental at the moment so you will have to excuse my crappy phone pictures. I hope you can see her amazing trousers :)

I'm burning like a bridge for your body

Also Yesterday was apparently national red head day, or so the Metro told me
so in celebration of my presently favoured hair colour I will share some lovely red heads with you :)

I'm sinking like a stone in the sea

So I'm back. Hands up who missed me? Ha
I had the most wonderful weekend in Eastbourne. The weather was so sunny and we walked along the seafront and had ice creams. We also had afternoon tea at the Eastbourne Grand Hotel on Sunday. It was very posh and the cakes were so yummy. They played piano music in the background and there were lots of glamourous looking old women sipping tea. It really was an amazing place, and They made you feel like royalty :)
Here's some pics of the stunning dining rooms, you weren't allowed cameras in there so these are pinched from their website.

Saturday 5 September 2009

This week has been pretty good, bar the early mornings. I managed to get a complimentary copy of the Lily cover of Elle and finally saw my name in print. Can't wait for the November issue of the magazine now. Oh and I got tickets for Brand New at Wembley! It's not til Jan, but I'm so excited!
I'm going away for a few days so I'll be unable to blog. After 3 weeks of a 7 day week I'm definitely in need of a break ha! I'll be visiting the boy in the sunny town of Eastbourne, so I might try and get some nice snaps.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend :)
oh and don't forget to take a peek at my ebay items here

Ladyhawke has collaborated with Becks to design these amazing labels. She's drawn inspiration from her love of all things mystical, with both labels featuring a cute illustration. The first being a portrait of the singer and a bird, and the second a wolf face.
I adore them.
