Style Paparazzi Twelve

Just a quick one this week, and it was quite an easy one to pick. What first caught my eye was her gorgeous lip colour. I've always been a bit too scared to try a daring lip colour, but I've recently taken the plunge and bought a lovely cherry/plum colour much the same as hers and am just waiting to find the perfect outfit to pair it with.  Now on to her dress, and I've only got one thing to say. The colour is just perfect and look at those pleats. Ok, that's two things. Get in my wardrobe now!

The cult of beauty

I am in total awe of these photo's from How To Spend It and can't believe I haven't come across them sooner. Shot at the V&A’s Green Dining Room,  I love how this editorial captures the beauty of Rosseti's paintings and how grown up does Ginny Weasley look!

Ruby Rae Love

I first heard about Ella after seeing her adorable illustrations and I'm a huge fan of this girls work. So you can imagine how excited I was when I heard she was setting up her own online jewellery store. I love the whole earth mother, hippyish vibe and can totally imagine piling them all on and strolling around in the sun. Just lovely.

Long live ELLEgirl

I'm definitely an ELLE girl. Way before my subscription to the glossy pages of ELLE, another magazine had my heart. It's little sister in fact. Ellegirl had everything a fashion conscious teenage girl could ask for. It had a good balance of high-fashion, high street bargains mixed with creative and inspiring photography not to mention featuring those oh-so-cool it hurts girls that we wished we could be. It have me a platform to be truly inspired and thinking about it probably gave me the passion for being creative and helped me realise what I wanted to when 'I grew up'.

I've still got all my old copies as I couldn't bear to throw them away.. much to my mum's dismay! The magazine was way ahead of it's time and I was devastated when it closed in 2005. It helped launch Peaches ahem.. media career - she had an albeit rather boring column each month as well as some early modelling shots from a young Alexa Chung. I loved that they celebrated inspirational girls and showed that it was Ok to be a bit different. Each month had different D.I.Y tips, attainable fashion and beauty and my personal fave... a peek inside some gorgeous bedrooms. Had it still been around today I'd be still reading it each month. Long live ELLE girl... I miss you!

[I've still got this one on my bedroom wall!]

Style Paparazzi Eleven

So the seventies are back this season and flares have been put back on the wardrobe wishlists... or so the fashion editors would have us believe. I'm short and blessed with child bearing hips so I think this is one trend I can sit out. I'm not even sure if i'm yet brave enough to try flares again [I think my hippie phase when I was eleven was enough] but this girl seems to work them effortlessly. I love how she's paired them with a few simple basics to achieve a slightly seventies preppy look, and how cute is her plaid shirt just peeking out at the collar. The only downside is I'm now on the hunt for a dark green biker jacket...

Fleet Foxes

After seeing Alexa in that amazing Opening Ceremony fox print dress a few weeks back, I've been dreaming about getting my own little paws on it. That was until I saw the rest of the collection.... now I need it all! I love that they've shot the lookbook in the historic French taxidermy shop that originally inspired the butterfly, cat, beetle and fox patterned range. Dead animals never looked so good.

I Need A Vacation

Just spotted this t-shirt from Little Fox and it's exactly how I feel at the moment. Thank god it's Friday.

P.s I'm selling a few bits on ebay... including some brand new Topshop Makeup. Take a peek

This weeks street style pays homage to the midi skirt. I prefer the pleated style and have added many to mental wishlist, but i'm still unsure of whether they actually suit me [i don't need help looking any shorter]. However, this girl seems to get it oh so right by pairing it with neutral pieces which really help make the skirt pop.

Nosey Parker

I like nothing more than snooping through other peoples houses [virtually of course] and then making a mental scrapbook of my dream home. [anyone else?]  This has been made much easier with the likes of The Selby, which is full of dreamy interiors and now The Coveteur takes it a step further with a closer look into some of our favourite fashion insiders' closets.

Each person reveals not only the wonderful treats that lay behind their front doors, but also the inspiration behind them. I love hovering over each image and reading the little story that each one tells. The perfect way to waste an hour... or two!

paris je t'aime

So Emmanuelle Alt's first cover as acting editor-in-chief is a stunner. I'm really liking the fresh andn pretty feel to it and Giselle looks beautiful in that white Dolce  & Gabbana sheer dress. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Something Good Can Work

I recently came across these images from Dan Mountford and they completely blow my mind. His double exposure photographs features a clever technique which blends faces with landscapes in a unique portrait series. Just wow!

Style Paparazzi nine

Another spring look for this weeks street style, I know it's on it's way... I can feel it! The sun has tried to rear it's head this week, but has been beaten by the horrible cold wind that makes us realise it's not quite bare leg season just yet.
Enough about the weather.. back to the task in hand! I'm a keen lover of grey and I definitely love this girl's dress, the little flowers on the shoulders breaks it for me... even I wasn't so lazy I might even attempt my own DIY! I've also been toying with the idea of getting a full fringe, paired with a cute bowler hat this girl makes the decision for me.

Yoko Oh No

Pegasus Bridge are my new obsession. Ok.. ok.. it may only be the same format of good looking boys playing some catchy indie-rock but I like it. I came across them a while ago and instant summer memories sprung to mind, then this week I rediscovered them on Spotify and I'm now dreaming of a summer... again.

The Gentlewoman

There's a cute little magazine shop just around the corner from my office and has been a great substitute since now that Borders and RD Franks have closed. Today I managed to pick up the gorgeous Frankie magazine as well as the latest issue of 'The Gentlewoman' which features Adele on the cover.
I'm a big fan of both the magazine and Adele, but was shocked to see their choice of putting her on the cover.. not that I'm complaining of course.

I really love the clean, fresh design and the great use of typography throughout. I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to great looking magazines...

This week's street style is definitely one of my favourites. I'm really loving cream shirts at the moment and like the way she's paired it with some slim fit trousers. I've just bought a dress in that lovely cinnamon colour too... I think it's taking over from my lust for rust!
